About the directors….

Michelle Rais: Michelle is the director of 7th and 8th grade band and orchestras. Mrs. Rais also taught in South Redford, Livonia, and Northville public schools. Mrs. Rais’ main instrument is the flute and piccolo. She has been playing and studying the flute for over 13 years. Her past teachers include: Dr. Julie Stone (Eastern Michigan University), Sharron Sparrow (Detroit Symphony), and Carol Talieau. Mrs. Rais has performed with Livonia Youth Philharmonic, Il Segreto String Quartet, Michigan Flute Orchestra, Lake St. Clair Symphony, and Eastern Michigan University Band, Orchestra and Flute Choir.

 

Mrs. Rais attended on scholarship and graduated from Eastern Michigan University with her Bachelors in Instrumental Music Education k-12. Mrs. Rais is currently attending Vandercook College of Music in Chicago working on her masters degree focusing in string education.

 

When Mrs. Rais isn’t teaching music, she enjoys spending time with her dog P-Nut (pug) and scrapbooking. She also enjoys her saltwater aquarium.

                 Clinician: Clinician for Livonia Public Schools Special Needs program – Music.

Accompanist (piano): Michigan State University, Madonna University, Novi Choralaires,

Community Theaters,  Langsford Singers, Michigan Opera Theatre Community  Outreach, First United Methodist Church of Northville.

 

In addition to Stacey’s teaching position for Novi Middle School, she is also the Director of Music at the First United Methodist Church of Northville, a Music Ministry incorporating 13 instrumental and vocal Choirs.
